I like the contrast of the car and the old architecture. It should be a place in a video game ✨! Fun fact one of my favorites games made very old architecture designs , wanted it to look decayed , so they built everything looking new and then started looking at places like this to see how buildings and structures deteriorate.
You are full of fun and interesting facts, girl lol What do they do then…do some type of time lapse program to make it look like it really deteriorated?
I’m not really sure the exact process , I do remember hearing it was based on a real place , Le Mont Saint Micheal , they just super decayed it to fit the gloomy aesthetic of the game .
But yeah I think modern or urban ruins are pretty cool . I always wanted to find an abandoned mall or plaza , I’ve seen a few videos of people walking through them and it fascinates me how something fairly recent ( like not as old as a cathedral ) can be run down and decayed. It’s like America’s ruins of a capitalism and materialism lol
I agree about it being fascinating. In fact, I just told Dwight that it seems we’d find some way to use these growing abandoned malls…he suggested a homeless shelter.
Either way, I know what you mean. We get to see the ruins of capitalism, up close and personal!
A homeless shelter sounds like an excellent idea , as a lot of places in the US , the climate is too dangerous to be outside , and so many in this country are unhoused .
You’re welcome. I would’ve never thought about that, but it makes sense when you put it that way. So were there a good amount of English speakers in addition to those that know Spanish?
Thank you for sharing your adventure!!… feel like I am actually there…
Until we meet again..
May flowers always line your path
and sunshine light your way,
May songbirds serenade your
every step along the way,
May a rainbow run beside you
in a sky that’s always blue,
And may happiness fill your heart
each day your whole life through.

Fabulous image, Katherin. I see the juxtaposition of old and new. The stones intrigue me – I love the texture and it reminded me of an old watercolor of mine. My painting was of an Irish castle, but I think you’ll see the similarity. The stonework in your photo is beautiful!
Thank you Judy! That’s what I saw when I snapped this photo, too. Your paintings are always captivating 💜 I’ll send you the other ruins from Panamá when I get a minute.
Also, I had no idea you could copy/paste a photo in these comments!
Thanks, Katherin. I had no idea either about pasting a photo. I just put a link to the picture on my illustration blog. Maybe because it’s a WordPress link it comes up as a picture.

Cool picture. What was it like visiting in Panama?

Thank you! It was very similar to the United States, mainly because of the colonialism that occurred with the building of the Panama Canal.
My husband and I blogged about it over here:

Awesome and I followed that blog.

There absolutely were more English speaking citizens, as opposed to CR where hardly anyone spoke English, except at museums or resorts.

That can certainly be helpful there. CR sounds like a great place to visit, too.

If you ever can, I strongly suggest CR.

Thanks Dutch! I’m glad to hear it…that’s exactly the effect I was hoping for 😉

Definitely old and new; though the morris minor is a 50s car, but color-sharp makes it appear new; huge and tiny, rustic and colorful.
Beautiful!

I’m pretty sure the body is a bit different, too. I just looked it up so I could know what you were talking about lol
And the ruins, well, they were created centuries ago 😉

This car likely isn’t particularly comfortable inside, but on the outside it is as cool as it can be. Really sharp.

I wonder what the builder would think if they were alive today to see what has replaced the horse that was once there.

Isn’t that a crazy thought? Like back to the future or something like that.
