Corona Chronicles: Creativity

Sooo, I was scrolling along on Facebook and ran across a friend from grad school, Amanda. She and her husband, Josh have created a PODCAST to hash out how they’ve been handling the pandemic with their teenage daughter and three-year-old son.

I thought it was a creative and authentic way to show that we’re all figuring things out in our own way, and I understand the constant need to create during pandemic times, so I’m passing it along. It’s about 30 minutes. I hope you enjoy The Wilsons Do A Podcast During a Pandemic.

What have you been doing? Have you been more or less creative during these past weeks?

  1. I am still working long days, even longer because I’m still working when I would have been commuting. I wish I had more time for creativity. I’m so afraid I’ll die before fulfilling my writing dreams for lack of time. Other than that, trying, Kathy, trying!

  2. I like to think I’ve been creative more, but mostly if I’m not writing is watching movies more, and catching up on Lifetime. And of yeah, trying not to grow too bored or go crazy.

  3. Hi Kathy, I feel like I have been living a more full life, actually. I have been working from home so have extra time on my hands where I would normally be commuting. I have had more time to be creative, getting stuff done around the house and loving spending more time with my little family. We have been building puzzles together, too. I hope to be able to continue to work from home! Thanks for sharing the podcast!

  5. Quarantine came the week after my surgery, so I’ve been focusing on recovery. I’ve also been digging deep with the help of Rachel Hollis, for some self discovery ❤️. Will check out your friends podcast. Thank you so much!

  6. Beyond cooking, dishes, and laundry, I’m rather unmotivated to do jobs that need to be done–cleaning, organizing, home repairs, etc. Instead I want to write and crochet and make envelopes out of magazine pages. So I guess creativity is ahead. 🙂

      1. A friend gave me a template. I save heavyweight covers from magazines that are pretty or interesting. A completed envelope will hold a standard sheet of paper folded in quarters. I use white labels for the recipient’s address and my return address. My hobby turns waste paper into useful items and my friends LOVE to receive them. 🙂

  7. It’s wonderful that people continue to make this a time for creativity. I’m working full time still, but I’ve done a good amount of yard cleanup and prepping the beds for the upcoming planting season. Plus, I get a little more time for writing and recording, too.
