I’ve never thought of it like that, but you’re right. Maybe if more parents used this approach, more children would be happier in the lives they’ve chosen 😉
One of my favorite Christmas movies but this line escaped me. If more people can adapt this mentality when dealing with others the world would be a better place.
I can only imagine Dr. D! If you were my real-life friend, I’d be calling you all the time lol just kidding…sort of 😉
But yes. This line is the best because (in the movie) it wasn’t said with malice. It was kind of like a complete understanding of who Scrooge had become and the fact that his lady friend knew she wouldn’t be a part of it…acceptance, along with surrender ❤
I love this. I had never really heard it before even though I’ve watched this movie over and over. And this is a great way to allow yourself to grow…thanks Mandy!
I’m thinking of my elderly mother saying this in her final days. Happy Holidays.

Really? Everyone’s interpretation is very interesting. I can see how this would be an appropriate quote for that occasion, too.

For sure. Let it go before Elsa lol
It’s in all versions in some variation, but I got this one from the Jim Carrey one.

I absolutely love this quote from A Christmas Carol Dr. G. Both for the season + for a reason.
I have the fixer / rescuer archetype. Which can complicated “off the job.”
Everyone sees a “free psychologist” and I just want to be freeeeee to be me.
Over time I am learning that.. Surrender is the ultimate.. surrender🍃
And boy does this post help!
